June 16, 2009 Arrived Bern, Switzerland

Our flight arrived in Zurich on time. Since we didn't exchange any Swiss Francs in the US from Bank of America, we asked around and found an ATM machine in the Zurich airport (any ATM here charges 3% currency exchange + $5 if it is not BOA partner which was still a better rate than exchanging with BOA in the US ). We took a train from Zurich to Bern which only took 1 hr. The first class train in Swtzerland was very nice.

After checking into our hotel, we tried to fight jet-lag by going to a tour to Gurten-Kulm, a restaurant on the top of mountain near Bern. We took the tram#9 (a kind of bus but it has an electrical line) then a funicular to Gurten-Kulm. On the mountain top, there is a kids playground which was very different from the US. It was peaceful and enjoyable.

Edward got bit by an insect which made his finger swollen.
