We took a train to Fribourg(30 min ride), changed to a bus to Bulle (1 hr), waited in the Bulle station for 50 minutes, then took another train to Broc (15 mins). Driving made lots more sense for today's itinerary.
In the past 3 days, we encountered many Swiss school kids on their field trips. They don't have their school bus, only travel on the public transportation, clean and safe. During the bus ride from Fribourg to Bulle, a group of Middle school kids sit in the back of the bus and sang American popular songs. Few kids smoked cigarettes in front of their teacher which seemed legal in this country.
The chocolate factory had a movie in French, and offered variate of free samples to taste.
One type of chocolate is 80% dark chocolate, very bitter. Milk chocolate is much better than American's because it uses 100% coco butter. Broc is a small town which has nothing but the chocolate factory. There is no direct train from Broc to Gruyere. We had to switch to another train in Bulle.
From Gruyere train station, we had to walk uphill 15 min to the Gruyere town. Gruyere is famous for its cheese and the village itself as well as its castle.
We had our lunch in this little lovely town.
Alice and I ordered cheese fondue.
Lesson: Looking for people to take a picture for you? Ask somebody who has professional camera in his hand.
